You may be unaware that there is a long list of these sudden unexplained disappearances of college students. Remember Brian Shaffer, Maura Murray, Michael Negrete, Justin Gains, or Josh Guimond?  Ron Tammen walked away  from Miami of Ohio in April 1953. He was last seen a three hour walk from school so confused he didn't know his name. He and the others above have never been found.  Disappearances

Typically the missing student begins an errand or starts a normal activity with no acknowledged problem then does not return. They sometimes stop driving, park and lock the car leaving money, cells, computers, and ID inside. There have been two male students who vanished on exercise runs. Both were discovered drowned, sudden unexplained deaths. (Roswell Friend, Devon Minor)

 

Some of the cases are absolutely bizarre.

 Jan 15, 2007 during a 30 minute drive from LaGuardia International Airport after a trip to the West Coast, Long Island, NY to Manhattanville College campus in Purchase, Joseph Zahornacky spoke with mother by phone, then a classmate, arranging to watch movies when he got back to the school. Neither of them detected a problem.   __   He stopped at Walgreens to buy toiletries, and spoke with two women.  Within 10 minutes of reaching the school campus he diverted, drove 50 miles from the Manhattanville campus to a remote boat ramp. Then he drove into the water and drowned.

Something happened suddenly with no warning to cause his death.   A visual subliminal distraction mental event is the only thing known to strike like lightening.  Walgreens employees and both women he spoke with were interviewed.  No one observed anything out of the ordinary.

Canadian engineering student Aju Chukwudiebere Iroaga vanished 70 Km from a paved road a few days into a tree planting summer job.  He was a young athletic male who often ran 30 Km in the morning before school or work. After quitting over a tree planting dispute, he was sent to wait at the side of the road for the bus back to the base camp. He was last seen at 4 pm waving to other crew members.  When the bus arrived he was gone. Born in Canada he was a dual Canadian/Nigerian citizen. All his ID including his Canadian Health Card were back at the base camp 8 km west of White River, Ontario.   __  There are still other missing Canadian engineering students. Only one of them has been found, in Texas.

These disappearances of students happen around the world.  Current Disappearances

Although it can happen to any student,  engineering, computer science, and design majors count high in the ranks of the missing.

Those majors have heavy academic loads, are heavy computer users, or engage activities related to their academic majors which create the basic situation for Subliminal Distraction.

 

In the early hours of a student disappearance it is not possible to determine

if it is an abduction, murder, accident, suicide or a  Subliminal Distraction fugue episode.

Unaware of the problem news sources do not report information which would confirm it.

When it happened to my wife after her office was changed eliminating Cubicle Level Protection, Connie heard voices and hallucinated guilt for impossible crimes.  (See her office picture and hospital record on site.)

Mollie had all the elements present,  the "special circumstances" for Subliminal Distraction.  What is not confirmed is did she experience the sudden onset mental event with hallucinations of guilt.  If so she could be hiding or running away.  Enough time has passed that she could have crossed the country.  Another student, missing three months, was recovered when he tried to enter Canada without papers.

Similar to the text above, this is one of several emails to reporters who posted stories about Mollie Tibbetts.

 

The AP story about Mollie Tibbetts disappearance on the XXXXX website was returned by a Google alert I have for a psychology investigation of visual subliminal distraction, discovered to cause mental breaks for office workers in 1964.

Something very strange is happening to students.  I believe I can explain what it is. 

 

Before you dismiss this information with an eye roll,

send the my site URL to a major university psychology department

to verify the basic facts of the physiology of human sight explained on my site.

 

You want facts, not opinions.

Everyone working for XXXX and everyone with a computer at home or a child in school

should understand visual subliminal distraction, explained in first semester psychology.

I have been unable to find reporters to investigate a simple problem everyone has, visual subliminal distraction, as the cause of the sudden unexplained student disappearances, and disappearance suicides.

Why?  Although a multi-billion dollar industry has developed selling cubicles and Systems Furniture since 1968 to prevent the office worker still-believed-harmless panicked episode of confusion, sometimes so severe as to cause hallucinations, the problem is so bizarre as to be unbelievable. The public, mental health services, and research are unaware such a problem exists.  No one screens for it before diagnosing mental illness. (See site pages.)

Those engineers, designers, and office furniture manufacturers who discovered and prevent it do not realize it is a normal feature of the physiology of human sight, not just an office phenomenon.

Students are not warned about the problem.  

 

When a student accidentally creates the design mistake engineers discovered, long hours of concentration to study or use a computer on social media, with repeating distracting movement nearby in peripheral vision, the usually mild office event can build to a severe episode.

 

The design mistake, a physical situation, can be experimentally replicated, optimized, to create anxiety leading to depressive ideation with heavy Subliminal Distraction for successive days, typically a week.

If this is the reason for  Mollie Tibbetts' disappearance the evidence for it will be in the home.   Where and how did she use her computer or smart phone?   Did the dogs she kept, moving in her peripheral vision, or other source of movement, big screen TV playing, fans, mirror reflections,  allow visual subliminal distraction? If a Subliminal Distraction fugue victim, she could be anywhere she could travel without a passport. Hallucinations of guilt or persecution by authorities like my wife had would cause her to hide from detection.  __  The manic episode of confusion spontaneously remits without treatment or after effects with appropriate rest from Subliminal Distraction. But memories of delusional beliefs are permanent.

In a very few cases the missing student, Ahmad Arain - UCLA or Matthew Wilson - Rice for example,  recovers and returns or is found in an altered mental state.
