Mengyao "May" Zhou  

There has been a second student suicide found in the trunk of his car,  Daniel Mellers, George Fox University.

Stanford doctorial student Mengyao Zhou was found in the trunk of her car at Santa Rosa Junior College ninety miles from her student residence.

Schools do not warn students of a simple problem engineers discovered when it caused metal breaks in 1964.

"Santa Rosa Police Department has uncovered no evidence of foul play" when her body was found in the trunk of her car, with water bottles, and empty sleeping pill bottles.

Disbelieving she committed suicide her father raised the money for a second autopsy,

then cited bruising to claim foul play.

 Police traced her travel to a Safeway, Target, and Wal-Mart where she purchased a 32 pill bottle of Unisom at each location.    There was video of her making the purchase.  The three empty pill bottles were found with her in her car trunk.

Dosage for sleep becomes effective at .1 to .5 milligrams per liter.  Toxicity  levels are from 1.0 to 5.0 milligrams per liter.  Toxicology tests showed she had 6.1 milligrams per liter of diphenhydramine, the active ingredient of Unisom, in her blood.

Zhou had told her roommate she planned to run errands when she drove away. Earlier money was transferred from savings to checking so she could pay bills on-line. 

She had bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed testing and been accepted in the graduate program at Stanford.   (One source cited her as a second year graduate student and Ph. D. candidate.)

But prior to leaving she sent her sister an email.  The contents were not revealed but said to be "life advice."  It was evaluated by a forensic psychiatrist, and Santa Rosa police  as a  a goodbye note."

No information was found to explain why she drove 90 miles to  Santa Rosa Community College or why she climbed in the trunk of her car then  used a sweater for a pillow.
