Psychosis
Page construction ongoing June 2, 2017.
Check back until this message disappears.
Psychosis is currently explained arising from the frailty of the human psyche.
The mental health establishment claims chemical imbalances in the brain cause mental illness,
depression, hallucinations, hearing voices, manic, and psychotic episodes.
NO ONE has ever proven that.
There is no "testable objective evidence" that the theory is true.
But drugs to treat mental illness all perturb brain chemistry based on that belief.
Mental health services believe they are successfully treating mental illness when a small number of subjects recover while under drug treatment.
Those who do not respond to the first drug are given other drugs until a recovery finally happens.
The mentally ill who do not respond to drugs are labeled drug resistant. Refactory Schizophrenia is a diagnosis for those who do not respond to treatment.
Forgotten is that 400 years ago in London, without drugs or modern treatment some claimed a 90% success rate for remissions.
How is that possible?
They were not treating mental illness.
They were observing spontaneous remissions of Subliminal Distraction.
So where are those spontaneous remissions today?
They are being covered up by immediate treatment, and claimed as drug and talk therapy efficacy.

Psychosis is explained with Subliminal Distraction
Everyone in mental health services, and research is aware the current theories of mental illness have problems.
The blind from birth do not have panic attacks, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia.
Panic attacks appear in diagnosed mental disorders, but no one understands why.
Mental illness typically onsets in late adolescence.
Multiple generations effected posits mental illness runs in families.
Subliminal Distraction explains the discrepancy, and many of the mysteries of mental illness.
When the mental breaks from visual subliminal distraction were explained in my 1990's psychology class, suppressing the vision startle reflex created a conflict in the mind. Continued suppression allowed the conflict to build until a mental break happened.
But that is an explanation to assuage curiosity. It does not explain what happens in the brain so that a massive number of subliminal failed attempts to execute the vision startle reflex causes a psychotic episode.
Although I have long suspected that psychosis is the maladaptive brain reorganization from attempts to use the temporary, too quick to be evaluated, neural impulses on the optic nerve, the trigger signal for the vision startle reflex, to create an image using only movement, and position information without color, or shape, recent published work points out brain reorganization from the loss of a hand, or eye.
That says the brain can reorganize function to accommodate changes in the body from birth or accident.
But can it create maladaptive reorganization from mistaking the input to trigger the vision startle reflex to bridge connections to allow dreaming wile awake to explain auditory and visual hallucinations?
It would explain why the completely blind, no neural impulses on the optic nerve, do not have mood, and psychotic disorders. This would not include the legally blind or partially sighted.
Subliminal Distraction is a peripheral vision driven phenomenon. All that is necessary to have exposure is peripheral vision, and the ability to suppress the vision startle reflex
Loss of central sight, but not peripheral vision would allow exposure
The late adolescence onset can be explained by adult behaviors engender more opportunities to create the "special circumstances" for Subliminal Distraction. Adult sized bodies moving in peripheral vision occupy more of peripheral vision in work and school situations They are more likely to be detected as threat-movement.
Increased size brain ventricles slightly lowers facility, IQ, preventing the usual recovery by spontaneous remission. That explains why the condition accumulates in schizophrenia but is not represent a disease cause of the disorder.
By performing my demonstration of the habituation of conscious sight in peripheral vision the ability to suppress the vision startle reflex is tested, There are some who cannot do that. They would be immune from Subliminal Distraction caused psychiatric symptoms.
Those who can suppress the reflex represent an inherited ability which would explain why mental illness seems to run in families.
By observation, interviews of subjects, and with experimentation using the design mistake engineers discovered, it would be possible show panic attacks are one of the first outcomes of significant Subliminal Distraction exposure.
I have personal experience that Subliminal Distraction causes panic attacks.

Drugs
Drugs used to treat mental illness fail double blind testing.
The FDA allows retesting until two positive tests are achieved.
Failed tests are discarded, not published.
The most infamous case involved six anti-depressive drugs. A British university filed a FOIA request for all the testing done to get the two positive tests per drug necessary for FDA approval.
That revealed over 50 tests had been attempted, 47 of them completed to get the 12 positive tests, two per drug, necessary for FDA approval.
Do the math. Subtract the 12 positive tests from the 47 total completed tests means that 35 tests said the drugs were worthless.
That's 3 of 4 tests for the total of 6 drugs were failed.
Yet all six of the drugs are sold today to treat depression.
When asked, psychiatrists will say there is case evidence the drugs work. But it is not possible to have case evidence of efficacy for drugs that fail scientific double blind testing.
Mental health services are making the mistake double blind testing is done to prevent They are exhibiting drug, and observer bias
If all the testing for drugs were required to be published the total failure would exceed the successes.
